Take Control of Your Tasks, ToDo’s.. Online

23 Jul

If you are a person who is super busy and want to have an excellent way to keep tabs on your tasking, projects, to do’s, schedules, etc.,  you might want to check out Toodledo.com.   It’s a fairly comprehensive online task manager that will keep track of all of your to-do lists. Further, there are a variety of import, export, and synchronization services it can be used with as well.    I’ve been using it for a while and it seems very useful and helpful to stay on top of things. Have a look and let me know what you think. BTW, if you follow the link, I’ll get credit for referring you.  Anyway, the basic service is completely FREE and always will be. They do have a Pro-level service if you are interested in the added features and benefits that package offers.

Jhoos.com – Avoid it!

22 Jul

Jhoos – Ever hear of it? Just want to give you all a heads up that this is apparently a sort of social network scam. I recently got a couple email requests to join from from personal friends. They obviously seem to already have their address books ‘hijacked’ by this service. If you get an unsolicited email suggesting you to join, I highly recommend that you do not. They will ask you eventually for your email address along with it’s password. Furthermore, you have to download their program to your computer. All Dumb! Prudence and a word to the wise is sufficient.     Here is a ‘whois‘ on the domain and another person’s opinion about this service.

Good news coming from Google and image searching. The quantity of of images on the web has simply become quite voluminous in this past decade. Google supposedly went from searching around 250 million images to over 10 billion images currently. They are coming out with a revampment of their Google images. Rather then belabor the issue here, check out Google’s blog on the subject.

NTT To Start 100Mbps wireless LAN?

20 Jul

Yesterday I heard from an inside source that NTT may be soon offering 100Mbps LAN for your connectivity while on the road. Now that’ll really be something.  Emobile (Japan) pales in comparison with a paltry 7.2Mbps.  Wimax is better at 40Mbps.   But 100Mbps wirelessly?  That will be sweet!  Now for the cost.  Hmmm…. Well, first things first, the rumor has to become fact first.  But what information I was able to gleen from the NTT employeed I spoke with, it’s coming! :-)

BTW,  Wimax  in Japan is not a bad deal either at 40Mbps.  I hear rumored from their side of the fence that  later this year, they will up the speed to 80Mbps.  Nice thing about Wimax is, no two-year contracts as with Emobile.  You pay by the month, and can quit any time.

Kitaro All Night Taiko Event

19 Jul

Well, we are just a little over a month away for the 15th annual all night taiko event sponsored by the master of the Taiko  himself, Kitaro.   To see my first posting (7/16) about this event and related information, do a search  on ‘Kitaro’, ‘Taiko’ or just click the link.  thought I’d just share a couple short video clips and a gallery from the 2009 event.  Although this event happens annually on the night of the August full moon (8/24 in 2010)  last year the event was held on September 5th.  This was due to circumstances involving on an Asian tour and the timing of his tour and the full moon of August did  not accommodate Kitaro very well.  (*J*)  Anyway, this year we should be seeing this annual spiritual and stress-release event taking place on the August full moon.   You can read up more  on Kitaro, his background and discography.    Enjoy the short video clips and the gallery from last year.

Mirrorless Camera Segment Continues To Grow In Japan

17 Jul

Many still swear by mirrored DSLR systems for photography.  However, In June alone, 32.5% of all system cameras sold in Japan were mirrorless.  For those who don’t know about this, it involves the Micro Four Thirds technology.   It is rumored even Canon and Nikon are raising eye brows and taking note of  this growth trend.  Is perhaps Canon and Nikon taking serious note of this momentum?  Perhaps they have reason for concern.  Time will tell for sure.

Solar-powered light bulbs

17 Jul

Invention breeds entrepreneurship and business opportunity.  Solar-powered light bulbs?  Just imagine the amount energy that might  be saved and the reduction of pollution to our environment by mass adoption of  solar-powered light bulb.  It’s an intriguing concept, a bright idea forthcoming!  :-)
